The Charge is slightly wider in the waist than the AMP Bolt, but with a tighter sidecut its designed for maximum quickness in shorter-radius arcs. Where the Bolt's core is all fir, the Charger's core is a lighter, livelier mix of aspen and paulownia, and it's sold with a lighter-weight 12-DIN binding that's plenty sturdy for all but the heaviest and hardest charging speed demons. The AMP series comprises three models, the Bolt (72 mm waist), the Charger (74 mm waist), and the Velocity (72 mm waist). All are designed for maximum precision and power on hard snow. All AMP skis are built on wood cores for maximum snap and durability. All but the Velocity are metal-reinforced, with Mod vibration dampening technology to further quiet the ride and keep the edge locked in the snow at high speeds. All feature K2's HybridTech sidewalls, which combine full-height vertical sidewalls underfoot for maximum edge power with more forgiving cap construction (where the rounded topsheet arcs from edge to edge) fore and aft, for mellower turn entries and exits. A touch of rocker in the tip-K2's Speed Rocker design-further smooths turn entries and absorbs terrain shocks. The torsion box construction (in which the core is wrapped in a carbon sock) is further reinforced with a strategically placed carbon weave that maximizes torsional rigidity further as needed. All AMPs are wood-core constructions. And all are designed as systems with Marker bindings that maximize energy transfer.
