Installation is a snap!

Don’t open your PC! WinTV-USB is an external device with a 125 channel cable-ready TV tuner. Install the WinTV-USB in your PC's USB port and you're ready to watch TV in a resizable window, right on your PC screen!
WinTV offers features usually only seen on high-end television sets, like previewing 16 channels at once. And it goes further! Snap and print stills from whatever you're watching. Or record video clips from your camcorder or off the air to create your own high-impact presentations.

And with Hauppauge's SnapShot application, you can capture still video images in adjustable high resolution modes. WinTV digitizes video using high quality 4:2:2 video sampling. And you can work on applications while simultaneously watching TV in a resizable window.

Entertainment: The Hauppauge WinTV-USB application has exclusive features like "channel surf", "no-title mode" and "always-on-top mode", making WinTV easy and fun to use! Videoconference over the Internet: Your WinTV-USB is a video digitizer and can be used with Internet videoconferencing applications like Microsoft's NetMeeting (included with Windows98), CU-SeeMe and more! Videoconference with your friends and family right on your PC! Note: videoconferencing requires a camcorder or video camera.

WinTV-USB's audio output: Unamplified "line-out." Output is through 1/8" female stereo jack. Line-out is compatible with "line-in" on most sound cards and stereo systems or amplified speakers.
For PC's or laptops without "line-in" jacks, the WinTV-USB supports audio over USB. Check our Software Updates page http://www.hauppauge.com/html/sw_tvusb.htm for information on a software upgrade for this feature.

Note:
Your WinTV-USB will deliver a better video image if your PC's or laptop's graphics card supports "overlay" mode. Most current graphics cards support "overlay" mode, including:
